Rock Band
Rock Band is an In-School and After School music programme where skilled young people can take their musicianship to the next level by rehearsing & performing in a band, write original songs and making new friends along the way.
Rock Band members can expect to receive:
- Weekly band rehearsals
- Rewarding lifelong experience
- Music industry skills
- Confidence building
- Performances and/or Recording opportunities
- A Rockin’ Tonne of Fun!
Fees
- In-School fees are specified by the School / Agency hosting the programme, so check with your teacher ☺
- After School fees are $7 per week / per rehearsal and hosted by Amplify and Youth Alive Trust.
When and Where
We offer Rock Band to Schools, Agencies and members of the public, during school hours and after school. Bands have 10mins before and after their scheduled rehearsal times to setup/pack down and tune.
- In-School rehearsals are 1hr each week on school site. Days and times are to be organised and confirmed with the School/Agency beforehand. If you are a staff representative, and would like us to teach at your school please Contact us ☺
- After School rehearsals are 1hr each week on either Monday or Friday between 5pm-8pm depending on band and tutor availability at Youth Alive Trust, 111 Seaview Road, New Brighton, Christchurch.
Requirements
Students are required to be enrolled into Amplify School of Music and/or already receiving music tuition. An established skill level is also required and to be assessed at Tutor's discretion before joining. Students will also be required to participate in performances and gigs from time to time.
Other Information
Its can be difficult forming new bands as it depends on having the right amount of students and making sure everyone can rehearse at the same time, which is why its important to know that successfully Enroling into Rock Band does not automatically grant your child a placement in a band. Occasionally existing bands may have a spot open for newcomers. Please don't hesitate to Contact us as we may be able to team you up with our soon-to-be rock stars! ☺
